Edoardo Pilutti

From Psychoanalysis to Art

Edoardo Pilutti is an Italian painter, psychoanalyst, and former journalist whose work bridges the worlds of art and the unconscious. For more than four decades, he has created paintings deeply rooted in metaphysical tradition, surrealism, and postmodern realism—where headless Roman statues, nude figures, and dreamlike landscapes evoke themes of desire, memory, and loss. Trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia under masters such as Emilio Vedova, and recognized by critics including Vittorio Sgarbi and Philippe Daverio, Pilutti has exhibited across Italy and Europe. His dual background in psychoanalysis and art makes his practice both intellectual and poetic: a dialogue between ruins and rebirth, myth and modernity, Freud and Rome. From his studios between Venice and Milan, Pilutti continues to revive the eternal soul of Italian heritage for today’s world.
